Rachel Boston is excited to announce her ownership of Texarkana Dance Academy. From a young age, Rachel knew her calling in life was to inspire children to grow as individuals through the art of dance. She grew up dancing in Durant, Oklahoma under the direction of many talented and inspiring instructors. In high school, Rachel was a member of the Durant High School Sparklers and held the office of Captain for a year.
Rachel pursued her love of dance in college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She was a founding member of the Sparks Dance Company and held the office of Captain for two years. While in college she participated in many productions including the role of Dream Laurie in Oklahoma!. She graduated from Southeastern with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Management and Promotions with a Minor in dance.
Rachel’s teaching career spans over a decade. She began teaching dance in 2005 at her home studio, Trinity School of Dance. She has also taught for the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival’s After School Program. Upon moving to Texarkana, she began teaching at Texarkana Dance Academy. As an instructor, Rachel believes dance can teach more than technique.
“Being a dance teacher is more than teaching the technique of dance. My goal is to instill self-confidence and life knowledge in each of my dancers.
I want them to leave my studio as young adults who are healthy, strong, and love themselves.”
As a lifelong learner, Rachel has traveled to multiple locations to further her dance education. She recently traveled to New York City to study under the nation’s leading instructors and choreographers. Some of her notable instructors include Mia Michaels, Ray Leeper, Anthony Morigerato, and Al Blackstone. She has also traveled to Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Austin to further her training.
Rachel holds a Master of Science Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University-Texarkana and has been a special education teacher for the past five years.
Rachel is thankful to her loving, supportive family and her husband Jason Boston for their endless encouragement to pursue her dreams.
Rachel is thankful for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing her with this incredible opportunity to inspire and make an impact on so many young children in her community.
“Let them praise his name with dancing.”

My daughter loves dancing at TDA. The instructors are wonderful and genuinely care. The dancers are all so supportive of each other and it’s so nice to be able to send your child to learn dance somewhere where you can trust that they are loved and supported.
