Why Choose TDA?
Celebrating 25 years of excellence in dance education
Since its founding in 1992, the goal of Texarkana Dance Academy has been to promote the performing arts at their highest standards, to strengthen character and creativity in individual students, and to enlighten the community with programs of performance.
Technique is strongly emphasized along with expression, discipline, and self-confidence. The academy offers a distinctive philosophy that places emphasis on family values and Christian principles. This is evident through our “family friendly” music and costume selections that reflect a wholesome image. Our mission is to instill qualities that will carry students through their entire lives.
Performance is an essential part of every artist’s training. Students at TDA perform in our spring dance concerts and full length story ballets at the Perot Theatre each year the 4th weekend in May. Students also perform a Christmas show at the Mistletoe Fair, dance with Texarkana Community Ballet in the annual Nutcracker, and dance in several local competitions each year.
“Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.”
Proverbs 22:6
